Occupations, Inc. Opens Newly Renovated Boys’ Group Home

December 18, 2014

On a beautiful autumn morning, Steven Ramiza, PE LEED AP, Vice President of LAN along with representatives from the local building trade unions, local contractors, businesses, contributors, and local community leaders, gathered at the site of the new boys’ foster care home, to celebrate a formal ribbon cutting for the opening of Occupations, Inc.’s newly renovated boys’ group home in Pine Bush, New York.

The new site, on over 3-acres of land, consists of a fully-renovated, 4,000 square foot Victorian home which will provide a warm, safe, comfortable home environment for up to ten boys, plus common space, office areas, etc. A separate out-building will provide recreation space for the boys. LAN provided all of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (M-E-P) engineering for the project. The renovations included complete HVAC, electrical service, plumbing, kitchen, bathrooms and septic. We are proud to have been involved with another successful project with Occupations!

For more than 50 years, Occupations, Inc., a not-for-profit agency, has provided outpatient mental health services, case management, child welfare, emergency services, residential services, transportation, recreation and employment opportunities to people with developmental disabilities and individuals recovering from mental illness.
