Lauri Taylor becomes Certified Safety ProfessionalJuly 17, 2014
LAN is pleased to announce that Lauri A. Taylor, has become a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). CSP is a credential issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) to qualified professionals who have met educational and experience standards and passed rigorous examinations validated against the practice of hundreds of safety professionals. In the past twenty years, the responsibilities of safety professionals have expanded. Safety issues have become more complex and today’s safety professionals must be continually better qualified. CSPs are among the most highly trained, educated, and experienced in the safety field.
Ms. Taylor has over twenty five years of experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) field. She has been an employee of LAN for nine years and is currently responsible for administering the EHS program for a global research & development center in Trumbull, CT as well as other LAN customer facilities in CT and NJ. Prior to joining LAN, Ms. Taylor worked for both Arch Chemicals and Olin Corporation, in Norwalk, CT where she developed and managed a global MSDS/SDS/label program with over 10,000 MSDSs in over 12 languages. It was also during this time that she served on the ANSI MSDS Committee in Washington DC authoring guidelines on the preparation of MSDSs, entitled “ANSI Z400.1-1998 Guide to Preparation of Material Safety Data Sheets” and was an invited guest speaker at several professional conferences. Lauri proudly drives around Connecticut with a state registration of “MSDS”. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Chemistry and a Master of Science Chemistry and is certified in First Aid/CPR/AED by the American Heart Association and recently became a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist I (CEAS). Besides being a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication (SCHC), Ms. Taylor is a member of the Board of Directors, Griffin Hospital, in Derby CT.
